The Broken

I woke to a surprise your eyes locked on my soul.

You kissed my forehead, held me tight.

Relief washed through me, my pain slipping away...

Until the pillow pressed against my face.

Weak beneath the poison of your perfume,

I fought for breath, but saw no regret,

Only the smirk across your lips.

My fist collided with your face.

Then your body struck the wall.

Still alive, you begged for my hand.

But I watched as your breath slowed down,

And my strength drained beside you.

I awoke again—next to a bled out corpse.

I carved a smile on your face,

Before I planned my death

So at the end we unite in silence.
