Mine Is All What You are

You left for months, no text,

Just silence where you used to stay.

The same girl I liked back then,

I still follow — finding excuses through her friends.

Can’t keep you away, can’t get too close,

Afraid of how far you’ll push me.

Born to be direct, but you made me shy,

Somehow, you still make it feel like I Could.

I was never honest with you —

That night, my heart beat like its last.

I confessed, Thinking I could.

You said we would never be one.

Was it the way I look?

The person I was?

Or the way I am?

I guess I’ll never know.
