Ten Years

Original Submission by Eric Shijo

Ten Years

Where will be in 10 years time?

Hold onto the bus straps, look into screens

The smell of fresh fish a local caught

Sitting in the the bus for an hour or so

Where will be in 10 years time

Will we have a car? The color of bright cherry tree?

Perfume mixed in with the sweet alcohol

The backseats lone,

we had grown far from that since then

Where will be in 10 years time?

Will we write books of our children young?

Grab their crayons and make a painting

Of our children, our families that saw us then

Where will we be in 10 years timem?

Will our faces wrinkle?

Etched lines forced onto us

Break apart from our kids

Their crayons are still here my dear

They will have left us far

Where will we be in 10 years time?

Will I draw your laughs onto a canvas?

My wrinkles as old as our son

Will we draw on the white filled floor

Make a mess! draw faces we may have forgotten

Draw families we once saw.

And die just as so
