REMEMBRANCE

by Nurul Amanina Afiqah Binti Suhaimi

The call to prayer travels on

invisible threads that

weave through the spaces between

roving molecules.

The world enters a capsule as

the sun’s disk swims in blue under

the western horizon,

during an hour that is often

mistaken as early dawn.

The sky carries vastness

for the birds to fly

to their nests among the

branches of countless trees, and

remember their home.

I cleanse in

streaming water as I too

return, return, return –

to our

one and only God.
