On this Day

On this day, the jacarandas bloom

Signalling to the Earth

Spring is here!

The violent wind tears leaves from the trees

Whipping them into a frenzy

The skies today, burdened with dark grey wool

Blacken my mood or does it?

The impending torrent brings peace to my soul

Washing away all remnants of you

I stand beneath Heavens’ tears

Old shards of you, no more my heart to pierce

On this day, I am finally free.
