HOPE
Hope is paralyzing,
Making you believe all good things come true,
The possibilities are mesmerizing,
He's persuasive
And paints a pretty picture
A beautiful abstract future
Unfortunately
He ties my worth to his idealistic dreams
And when they don't come true
I'm left to wonder
And I'm left to ponder
That maybe the voices in my head were right
And I'm just not worth the fight
I'm not worth to stay for
I'm not worth to be kept
I'm not worth to be loved
Plainly
I'm just not worth it
We preach peace and love
And defend it too
But what do I do
When peace takes me for a fool
I found love in him
Therefore I found peace
He found love in me
But his peace was amiss
With no warning
And no regard
He placed me on the other side of his walls
And now I stand there
Waiting for his call
And I know this is the worst of my falls
But my heart is sure this time
Therefore I keep open all my doors
Sometimes I don't know which is worse
To have hope or
To believe in man
Forgive me
But those two have a lot in common
When God created hope
He intended me to have hope in Him
And not these assumptions I call dreams
Reality is true and hurtful
So I choose to be delusional
It's just a better way of living
And all people do is take, take, take
And I'm all out of giving.
If I live life the way it is
I'll never see heaven
immersed in sorrow and depression
I'll never make it to God's day seven
So sometimes I believe the sky is pink
And not all is true all that I think.
