ESSENCE OF LIFE

The tragedy of being human —

we chase certainty and perfection,

and fall for illusions —

of control and stability.

We script and plan

for days and weeks and months and years

but life isn’t a skit.

It unfolds in ways

we don’t anticipate.

There'll be storms

and there'll be breezes.

There'll be floods

and there'll be tides.

Embrace ‘em all,

lest you break.

After all, what would life be,

without its mysteries and suspense,

lacking twists and turns? —

The very essence of it.

Would it still be living,

if we repeated routines

instead of uncovering surprises?
