FUTILE

I am being ravaged

Not by beast, nor by being

The very air that surrounds me

Seem to remind me

They whisper, try sneer

As I stretch forth my arm

I can almost reach you

Then again, I cannot

The strings that tug at my heart

Have no beginning and no end

The movement of the strings is below Threatening to pull me into the serenity of the earth to lie side by side with you In sweet silence and oblivion

But I hear a voice

A voice so loud that it can’t be heard It tells me to rise

I leave a part of myself

And go with what is left of me

Though the strings tug unceasingly, The insides of my belly feel hot, then cold All threaten to spew before me

I promise the earth is less dirty

Your home in the earth will rival Kings No more pain

No more heartache

I shall carry all of you, here

And pray

That the part of me with you

Shall keep you company

Till we meet once more

I am being ravaged by the memories
