Being your being

In this world, it can be hard to be your being.

Deeply buried trauma and outdated stories sculpt what we believe to be true.

A billion pixels of media deceptively paint the murals that our eyes are seeing.

And times of true inner stillness and peace is as rare as a moon painted blue.

We plough and plough and plough our field.

Due to ignorance of self, we kill the Earth’s potential for abundant yield.

Seldomly resting.

Seldomly sowing seeds of humble service and blessing.

Behind us, our naked and scarred land is slaughtered by the Sun’s raging rays.

For we never planted greenery to shield the soil during these warm days.

Behold, our being is both:

the Sun and the Soil;

the Plough and the Workers who toil;

the crop covering the land that we briefly own;

and the seeds of humble service that we had never sown.

You reap what you sow.

So sow what you want to reap.

But first pray to know what it really is that you are meant to sow.

So that your harvest will not be unhealthy and cheap,

but graciously nourish all who eat thereof to grow.

So go inward and feel the heat of your sacred sun.

Observe the arid patches of overturned soil.

Lay down your plough for a while and grant yourself some holy fun.

Then pray and seek guidance on how to bring peace to this turmoil.

Proceed to sow your treasured seeds,

by serving this world with your humane thoughts, words, and deeds.
