मैं लिखूँगा तुम्हारे बारे में... तुम्हारे और मेरे बीच जो प्रेम था, उस पावन प्रेम के बारे में। और ऐसा लिखूँगा कि पढ़ने वालों का प्रेम के प्रति नज़रिया ही बदल जाएगा।

​क्योंकि प्रेम में सभी... प्रेमी नहीं बनते। प्रेम कुछ को प्रेमी या प्रेमिका बनाता है, तो कुछ को सीधे ईश्वर का दर्जा दे देता है...

​मैं तुम्हारे प्रेम को अपना इष्ट, अपना आराध्य, अपना ईश्वर लिखूँगा।

​मेरी हर एक पंक्ति एक मंत्र बन जाएगी, और मेरा पन्ना-पन्ना तुम्हारे मंदिर का गर्भगृह। मैं इतना लिखूँगा तुम्हें कि थक जाएँगे लोग तुम्हें पढ़ते-पढ़ते, पर तुम्हारा ज़िक्र कभी ख़त्म नहीं होगा। जब भी कोई सदियों बाद प्रेम की परिभाषा ढूँढेगा, वह तुम्हारी रूह की इबादत पर आकर ठहर जाएगा।

तुम्हारे सामने सूर्य का तेज भी फीका पड़ जाए, तुम्हारी आँखों के सामने चाँद की चाँदनी भी हल्की लगने लगे।

​तुम्हें देखने के लिए खुद इंद्र देव को भी इस धरा पर आना पड़ जाए, और स्वर्ग की अप्सराओं को भी अपने यौवन पर शर्माना पड़ जाए जब तुम चलोगी, तो हवाएँ अपना रुख बदल लेंगी। जब तुम बोलोगी, तो परिंदे चहकना भूलकर तुम्हें सुनने लगेंगे। वक्त भी थपकी खाकर वहीं रुक जाएगा, ताकि वह तुम्हारे इस अलौकिक रूप को एकटक निहार सके।

​“मैंने इस मतलबी दुनिया की तमाम बंदिशों को पीछे छोड़कर तुम्हें चाहा है। तुम मेरे लिए सिर्फ एक इंसान नहीं, बल्कि उस खुदा का साक्षात् रूप हो जिसे मैंने कभी देखा नहीं, पर महसूस हर साँस में किया है।“

​मैं तो चाहता हूँ कि लिखी जानी चाहिए दुनिया की तमाम मुहब्बत तुम्हारे नाम... इतिहास के पन्नों पर जितने भी प्रेमियों के नाम दर्ज हैं, उन सबकी परिणति बस तुम पर आकर पूरी हो।

​तुम्हारी हँसी हमेशा बरक़रार रहे, इसके लिए हर रोज़, हर पहर दुआएँ पढ़ी जानी चाहिए। मंदिरों के शंखनाद से लेकर मस्जिदों की अज़ान तक, बस तुम्हारी मुस्कान की उम्र लंबी होने की मिन्नतें माँगी जानी चाहिए। क्योंकि तुम्हारी एक हँसी ही इस उजाड़ दुनिया को जीने लायक बनाती है।

​मेरी हर इबादत, मेरी हर साँस और मेरा हर शब्द सिर्फ और सिर्फ तुम्हारी सलामती के लिए है।

​बस तुम अपना ख्याल रखना।
