कर्ता कौन ?

किसी और ने ही दिया तुझको ये जन्म ,

पहचान तेरी बनी रही फिर वही आजन्म ,

अन्न-भोज भी दिया तुझे किसी और ने ,

तू लगा रहा बस सब कुछ जोड़ने।

विद्या- ज्ञान भी पाया नहीं तूने ख़ुद,

पर समझता रहा तू स्वयं को केवल बुद्ध ,

नौकरी- रोज़गार भी मिला तुझे किसी और से।

जवाब दे मेरी हर बात का अब गौर से ,

अपनी मृत्यु का कर्ता भी क्या तू स्वयं है ?

स्नान हो प्रथम या कि अंतिम कहीं,

कौन है कर्ता ,अन्य या कि त्वम् है ?

कंधों पर जिनके अर्थी तेरी अब जा रही ,

मृत्यु - भोज भी उनकी ही जिह्वा खा रही,

दूसरो से पाता रहा और जीता रहा ,

सम्पूर्ण जीवन क्या तेरा बस तेरा रहा ?

फिर अकड़ किस बात की अब यह बता ?

ज़िंदगी भर तू घमंड क्यों करता रहा ?
