Winter

I didn't like her. She came with urgency before her time. Her cold white fingers roughly undressed her predecessor's burnished rustling robes of flame tipped finery.

Every year, she comes unadorned.

Hideous and plain.

Then, without warning, her beauty unveiled.

A quiet splendor of hidden grace

naked nobility of stark elegance

frost kissed, crystal clad

icicles draped her glistening limbs

like diamond dusted leaves and frozen lace.

Winter draped the evening in a performance crafted for me only Mandy Rose
