MY MOUNTAIN

She stood majestic

iridescent and magnificent

Proud and overbearing

Untouchable

Yet they were undaunted

They danced over and above her in their white fluffy dresses Some streaky, some tight and some light

Brilliant white, pearly white and fifty shades of grey

They played with each other unafraid of her.

She stands immovable

Beautiful in every form

Her crags, her cliffs, her precipice,

her fatness, her leanness, her greenness,

her blueness, her blackness,

her beauty inescapable.

Yesterday she stood green and upright

threatening the dancers "you can't touch me."

She smiles, she mellows

allowing the fluffy dancers to cover her emerald range like a tablecloth. Today she is a menace.

Black mean and mysterious.

Their braveness astounds me.

Her beauty inspires me.

She is my mountain.

My Outeniqua Mountain.
