WHY I WRITE.

I write what I feel,

Which so happens to be what is real,

Emotions I was raised not to reveal,

Battles I am accustomed to conceal.

I write what I see,

I write to be free,

To retrieve my stolen glee,

And the better half of me.

I write what we all happen to relate,

I write my own fate,

I write to find beauty in the hate,

And the dying hunger I need to sate.

I write to show my voice,

I write to exercise my choice,

I write to exercise my agency,

Fight against complacency,

Put me out of my misery,

Fill the shoes of this profound vacancy.
