Where Nature Is Itself

The sea is where nature is itself.

The crashing waves,

The gentle wind.

The raging storm,

The quiet night.

The sea is where nature is itself.

For it is cruel,

Yet it is merciful.

It contains chaos,

Amidst the peaceful silence.

The sea is where nature is itself.

For nature has two sides,

Where every story is bound and told.

Nature is a mirror of two worlds,

Where one may quench his thirst, or drown in the same waters.

The sea is where nature is itself.

A drop could create a ripple,

Yet a ripple couldn't always grow into waves.

With every drop of story,

The sea contains countless histories.

The sea is where nature is itself.

The hum of wind and the sounds of motors,

For a sailor it is normalcy.

If it is their normalcy,

Would wishing it to be my eternity be selfish?

The sea is where nature is itself.

Surely the gentle waves would rock one to sleep,

Would it be selfish to lull one to sleep even as water fills their lungs?

Surely the gentle waves would fill the silence,

Would it be selfish to wish my end were here?
