Why?

“Why did you do it?” she asked.

Doesn’t she think that I’ve asked myself that very same question thousands of times already?

Doesn’t she know or even just realise how much that very question has been bugging me?

I. Don’t. Know. Why…

It was my choice,

And I don’t even know why I made it.

It was my choice,

And it was wrong.

Why did I even do it?

I didn’t think it was wrong at the time…

But they don’t ever seem to see what I see.

They just assumed.

Saying that I’m wrong, without any explanation.

Saying that I’m wrong, can’t I just get my vacation?

Why did I do it tho?

Out of greed? Out of spite? Lust? Desperation?

No.

That’s what they think tho…

Maybe out of blindness. Love. Safety. Grace.

What they actually missed.

“Why did you do it?” she asked.

Silence filled the room,

Tape covered the girls' mouth,

Tears slowly filled her eyes.

She shrugged and mouthed, “I don’t know”…
