You know that naked violinist playing at the end of your bed when you open your eyes? I nearly had it.
He was just a guitarist.
And he moved me 16 years ago when the fire was roaring while my three friends held me after Beloved.
He was one of them. A Dopper with sole.
And broke my heart when he picked away at John Denver’s You fill up my senses… like a night in the forest.
Two friends left quietly. And we filled up our senses.
My Jim Morrison violin sonata surprised him – but didn’t floor him.
He wanted to pluck more strings.
As did I.
And we did.
There was a fillet sauted like me in a traffic jam waiting to get to him; there was wine and little else but music on my side.
And the music are ties that bind – I thought. But what do I know?
Like a storm in the desert I hit without asking.
I’m cleaning out my life tonight and stumble upon two of his CDs and it moves my fanny. It wakes up to our kinkiness, storms, washing sheets, passion, deep knowledge of self, talking as the sun rises on the deck; whatever.
He got my memory tonight. I sent it.
I got a emoji kiss.
That, I suppose, is life as we don’t want to know it.
