We need you, Lord by Jeline Loh Jen-Li

The universe is at stake without you, Lord,

Yet there is a deep longing on the inside of us.

The emptiness so vast only you can fill the void,

We need you, to deny it would be oblivious.

The earth gives way, the seas part generously,

Yet you are no where at sight, Lord.

The immense suffering one endured profusely,

We need you, not a day without you, God.

The heart of a soulless living being, yearning,

Yet it goes unheard, cruelly disregarded.

The forsaken tree in the forest that is mourning,

We need you, in this lifetime to stay guarded.

The bright morning star that lights up this space,

Yet you were the one that set it apart, God.

The mesmerizing multicolored ribbon of grace,

We need you, the one that calls us by name, Lord.
