The Last Light

As the last light disappears,

the path that awaits is unclear.

They said that roses are red,

and violets are blue.

Yet the flowers full of colour turn to ash,

Shattering my innocent beliefs like glass.

Counting down the days I was in the dark,

I looked up at the unending void, the light faint and stark.

I defiantly stood up against my monarch,

Her figure outlined by the abyss’ arc.

The strings that she wove upon me,

are now what I must break to be free.

Dear creator, I ask you this,

“Why did you trap me in this abyss?”

She did not even cast her gaze-

She set the final passage ablaze.

Yet between the two worlds, a crack remained,

Through it, the rays of daylight passed.

The day the light finally came back,

I slipped beyond the crack.
