Wonders of Longing

I woke up and the thought of you creeped in

As much as I resist, it’s becoming a routine

As I count down the days till we reconvene

Sadness lingers within

Can’t help but gaze at the ticking clock

Wondering what you’re doing on the dot

How I want to say I miss you a lot

As I erase the messages I wrote

Grinning and the long face

Confused and amazed

The sweet and bitter taste

You really got me into a maze

I would just sit there and stare

Reminiscing about the times we shared

Diving into the rabbit hole of despair

As I vouch to never declare

Today, I put my heart on my chest

You’ve grown on me, no more no less

For I know I’ve let you in with my consent

I’ll always be your no.1 fan
