The Writer Behind the Words

So engrossed in analysing the poems of other strangers

But who stopped to analyse you?

Or did they even get a clue?

Expected to dissect their words

But really, did they think like such nerds?

Or did they just write like us… just about what hurts…

Writing was never a chore

But a coping mechanism used when they needed to let out so much more…

Did those before really intend causing such grief?

Or were they just like us who used writing as a form of relief?

Writers would never wish inspection upon their word…

They’d have said it if they could,

Not wrapped it up in ink and wood…
