World, forget me.

Forget my smile

Forget my laugh

Forget my good, my bad,

my in-between.

Forget my thoughts

Forget my voice

Forget my stories, my poems,

my creativity.

Forget my beliefs

Forget my opinions

Forget about my worries,

my hopes,

my dreams.

Forget about everything–

about me.

But please, World…

Don’t forget about my friends,

my colleagues,

or my family.

Don’t forget their gifts,

their talents,

or the beauty they bring.

Don’t forget about their trials,

their struggles or their hurt.

But also, don’t forget about their bravery,

courage or their strength.

Don’t forget about the way

they make you better,

brighter, safe.

Don’t forget what they bring

out in you.

Or the way they make

life worth living.

Don’t forget everything they

carry for you.

Everything they do for you.

Don’t forget them.

And maybe, actually…

Don’t forget about me.
