THE WAR WITHIN

Scaling all the wonders of the earth

Thy wish was to bear me of flesh

Like many others that were and are

To feel and be felt

Is there a beauty to it all?

For the emotion I attach to this is revolt The complexity of just being

One cannot begin to decipher

Thy true intent

Is it to be a curse or blessing?

To be human

To feel it all then feel nothing

In the end, overpowered by numbness Scaling all the wonders of the earth

Thy wish was to bear me of flesh

The inability to choose, will forever be my grudge For as I sit under another wonder of yours The bitter feeling of envy is overwhelming Threatening to unleash destruction

Out of sheer helplessness and desperation I find solace under the peaceful poplars That they may reach out to me and forever Make me their own

Scaling all the wonders of the earth

Thy wish was to bear me of flesh
