The Princess and Her Sword

She was born in silk,

But not born a warrior.

Her hands once held roses,

Her heart stitched together from her scars,

Her voice once carried lullabies,

Now carrying the strain from war.

Every single smile she wore,

Was an armour against the ache.

Her sword no ordinary blade…

It shimmered with sorrow,

Forged from every tear that she had shed…

And it pulsed with the quiet magic,

Of a heart that refused to break.

They called her “princess”,

As if softness was her destiny -

But she learned early…

That love can wound deeper than steel ever could.

She did not slay her enemies for glory…

She did it,

Because silence was kinder than their cruelty,

Because survival sometimes means choosing yourself over the world.

Each of her strikes was heavy,

Not with rage…

But with the weight of lost love,

Buried dreams,

And the ache of knowing -

That even victory cannot heal loneliness.

And when the battlefield grew still,

She stood alone…

The sword trembling in her hands,

Her heart whispering -

“I’m still here,

But I’m not the same”.
