The Light

The light

I thought you might have left the light on

even when you were distant

Turns out it was just your cigarette

but my electric bill was consistent

The flick of your Bic

That tiny, little spark

was enough to convince me

I wasn't left in the dark

Then everything went black

I didn't think I was asleep

‘til I awoke

to the awful smell of

cigarette smoke

I finally saw the light

You take one last hit

You throw it on the ground

And you stomp on it.

Wow

I see it's out now
