What's there to achieve without a dream
Original Submission by Shunant Wharton
What’s there to achieve without a dream?
Growing up they normally asked me what wanted to be
But just to be somebody great was what I wanted them to see
I tried to set the right example
But deep inside, I was honestly miserable
For hospitality, I portrayed a fake smile
For a professional lifestyle, I emulated the people I would like to be
But what’s the use in living a lie
I could be like Whitney, she’s a beauty
Not forgetting that I could take a page out of her book with the way her message in song motivates me.
I can be one of those greatest poets whose writing style fascinates me
I could be a famous actor; I knew what to do
Not only in script, but I also had the right moves
I could be a doctor, I just needed the right tools
So many different careers but how do I choose?
Overthinking allowed me to become lonely and emotionally abused
It may appear that I’m alright but deep within I’m confused.
Whatever you believe you can achieve they say
But what’s there to achieve when you don’t know the way?
