The faithful pair – By Rajshree Naik

Two little birds from outer space,

Yet they felt like kin to my embrace.

They’d often visit, flit, and trace,

As if to share their gentle grace.

Present, yet distant, they'd converse,

Their voices mingling, diverse.

I felt their journey every day,

Seeking glimpses of where I lay.

Chirping sweetly in their flight,

They urged me to embrace the light.

When the time came for me to stray,

To a new home not far away,

I hesitated, felt the cost,

Not wanting to leave them lost.

Their absence seemed a heavy price,

For they shone like a divine disguise.

Making change was hard to do,

To hear new voices, see skies anew.

Life’s a puzzle, shifting, clear,

I settled in, though they were near.

Thoughts lingered, dreams did bloom,

Of their return to my new room.

I pondered deep, not in vain,

Till they visited once again.

Marveling at the power of thought,

They came to my garden spot.

Closer now than they'd been,

We rekindled our cherished scene.

A bond that felt so close and grand,

They chirp and sing, just as planned.

Part of my world, their songs embrace,

In this haven, a perfect place.

These two little birds from space,

Their presence fills me with grace.

A sanctuary where they roost,

Forever intrigued by their mysterious boost.
