The Dawn Within

She who sat beside the window,

Started to applaud the quiet splendour

of the dawn sky slowing blushing into gold,

and began to dip herself in the

warmth of the orange sun rays.

To her, the window was a door way

to another world,

a passage where she found the

heavenliness of the morning breeze

and the whirling of the green leaves.

And then, that was when she heard her

mother calling out her name,

“Close the window!

They are painting the wall that is right in front of your window..”

Pause, for a moment her little world fell silent.

She let go of the dawn she had created,

stopped her imagination

and then the truth returned.

She realized that denying the truth that she is

blind cannot change the fact!

Still, no one could set the rising sun

in her own world.

She kept on watching the dawn,

not with her eyes,

but with the unseen light she carried within

where even the darkness feared reaching.
