Snow

Original Submission by Mohd Saqib

SNOW

Snow envelops the distant hill

as I watch from the window sill.

Fingers are numb

face, cold.

Even the sweater

cannot hold.

Snowflakes land

on the naked tongue.

Insides shiver

as cold penetrates

through lungs and liver.

Cold and quiet breeze

accompanied with sudden chill

makes me freeze

as I look upon the hill

Shutting the window, I step away

with a frown etched upon the face.

For one last look as I turn around,

I see the sun smiling innocently

from behind the clouds.
