The cave of fear

Do not be afraid.

Fear will only let your true colours fade,

And transform the beautiful artwork that you are,

into a dull image doodled with char.

When has fear served you anything but an empty plate?

Starving you to death while you wait and wait...

Waiting for your true desires to be brought on a tray,

forgetting that you placed your order as a take-away.

Fear will never make your days more colourful and bright.

It will only chain you inside a cave and stop you from dancing in the Sun’s light.

Cause you to see your life as shadows dancing on a stone face,

convince you that your dreams all fit inside that dark hiding place.

Fear will only keep you from knowing what is real.

So step outside and go pick your own vibrant meal.

There is fruit that’s full of life waiting for you to climb its tree.

There is a whole world outside waiting for you to break free.

So step out of that cave with walls reflecting fear,

and stop waiting for cheap food that won’t ever appear.

See that your fears are merely shadows,

cast by the love in your heart that brightly glows.

There is no need to fear your fear, so just be kind.

Thank it for reminding you that you’re not yet aligned

with your true loving self that can’t be bound.

Then you will once again sow life into your ground,

and grow a garden with beauty unbound.
