Shrap

Meri khamoshi hi meri pehchan ban gayi,

Har zulm ko chup-chaap sehti hu main,

Zara batao ki kya paap kiya,

Bas beti bankar kyu bikharti hu main.

Dusron ke ghar roshni bharne ko,

Apne hi saare armaan jala diye,

Subki khushi ko apnane ki khatir,

Palkon mein ashq daba kar jee liye.

Kya janam liya toh paap kiya?

Kyu har kadam par saza mili?

Kyu pyari si ek muskaan ke badle,

Har baar mujhe hi zafa mili?

Tum beti keh kar pyaar karte ho,

Par bandhan hazaron lagate ho,

Main phool hu toh kyu kanto se,

Har khwahish ko meri jalate ho?

Sunti hu har ladki ki woh cheekh,

Jo khamoshi mein ghut ke reh gayi,

Woh saare tyaag aur woh qurbani,

Jo chup-chaap nadiyon si beh gayi.

Ae duniya walo jawaab toh do,

Kya ladki hona ek shrap hai?

Manga tha pyaar bas thoda sa,

Par mila kyu mujhe yeh taap hai?

Phir bhi suno meri sakhiyon tum,

Hum raakh nahi jo bujh jayein,

Iss kaante bhare raste par bhi,

Hum deep ban kar jal jayein.

Hum sahenge nahi ab koi saza,

Apni pehchan ko dhundhenge,

Iss shrap ko vardan bana kar hum,

Aasman ko ek din chhu lenge.
