SAKSAMA

Ia datang menyapa tanpa khabar,

Tiada mengetuk, tiada memberi iktibar,

Semuanya dikembalikan kepada tanah yang samar.

Di hadapan maut, lenyaplah segala nama,

Pulang menjadi debu, ditinggalkan sebatang kara,

Bersemadi dingin di antara liang gelita,

Satu-satunya hukum yang benar saksama.

Tatkala nafas terhenti buat kali terakhir,

Ditinggalkan jiwa yang hidup dengan hancur terdampar,

Menangis sendiri menghadap takdir yang sukar dinalar.

Barangkali hidup bukan tentang berapa lama,

Tetapi tentang apa yang sempat ditinggalkan sebelum tiada,

Kerana pada akhirnya,

Seluruh kita utuh milikNya, Yang Esa.
