Peace, it is elusive

A peace so perfect it is elusive

comes softly in the morning light

remains among the chatter, the doing, the thousand small endeavors

like a shield like fuel

a source throughout the conflict of the day

a guide with all like-minded

a companion that waits there for any

quiet moment to be recognized and follows, hand-in-hand

pervasive, mixed throughout your being

into the dusk the magic curtain to the night and settles in the night with you

ever-present if you wake

silent, powerful in its softness

powerful in its oppositeness

peace will join you once again at breaking dawn

Peace, like a little being following you everywhere, waiting to be recognized.
