My Visitors

Melancholy:

Playing the fiddler in my folly,

Emotionally feeling shades of blue

Because of opening the door to you.

I'm left feeling vulnerable,

This situation unbearable.

Despondency:

You visit often frequently,

Your stay is long over-due

But when you stay you overdo.

The act of all your taunting;

Leaves a rather eerie haunting

Sorrow:

I wish you gone by tomorrow,

Siphoning up all my good luck,

All the joy you wrongly pluck

Wallowing in my self-pity

I'm left feeling really shitty

Misery:

Your arrival a total mystery.

You sneak in when I'm down

Slowly, I start to drown.

You steal all my air;

The wake of dread and despair.

Hope:

Dangling from a rope,

You got pushed from the edge,

Lying at the bottom, I have to dredge.

Your presence makes the others flee,

So please hurry back to me.
