The unseen world

Everyday, everyone passes everything

That seems uneventful and boring

Yet despite their thoughts

A beautiful world arises as they remain snoring

Books, bags, bottles, all arise

To share their secrets from tables and shelves

While they disperse the dust from their eyes,

Indulging the world known to only themselves.

The nearby keys clang as they jump over each other,

The plates watching in laughter from their rack,

And the books speak of knowledge to their friends

All behind a human’s unknowing back.

Everyday, we all remain blind to the secret life they lead,

From the ticking clocks hung on the wall

To the grey pots housing flowers

They stay still at night to ensure their dream doesn’t fall.

And when the clear night turns to golden day,

Everyone returns to their silent selves,

And as the first of the commuters awake,

They stay inside their solemn shelves.
