My Space

Engulfed within my space,

where all I want is you,

just your presence,

a presence to fulfil

what words could never explain.

A place you will never understand,

Where every conversation can be misread,

and every word I speak

can be misunderstood.

A place you wouldn’t dare to enter,

for it may become an ache,

an unnecessary pain.

And the insecurity kicks in,

leaving me feeling all alone

within my own space.

I can’t blame you,

for everyone needs peace.

But somewhere, I still question myself:

Was I ever meant to be loved?

The worship I require

cannot be acquired,

for love that must be asked for

is never truly love.

And there I stood,

the crying version of me,

alone within my space,

in a place you will never understand.
