Mercy Denied

Some days... it tries to eat me alive.

I try so hard to escape it,

hoping my puppy eyes

might free me from its wrath.

But it suffocates me so deeply

that all I can do is let the tears fall,

unable even to wipe them away.

“Show mercy,” I whisper.

“No... you must bear this.”

Now I sit in silence,

carrying whatever it brings.

It feels like my heart will be pulled out,

yet I cannot stop it.

I can only take what comes,

hoping one day

the pain will finally stop.
