Mary’s Irish Pub

Ons staan onder 'n eensame straatlig

terwyl die koue dreig teen my wang.

Jou lag val tussen die klipstrate

en ek wil elke herinnering met dié een vervang.

Die smaak van sigarette en kersiebier

spoel in ons monde rond.

Jy spin my in 'n sirkel

en ek beland byna op die nat grond.

Ek wens ek kan daai oomblik weer oorhê

met die Ierse kroeg agter jou kop.

Ek het aan jou lippe gehang die hele aand

al het my hart my ribbes blou geskop.
