Love Kept Me With You

Everyone has a journey

A story to tell

There’s times when there’s trials

And triumphs as well

Of life’s many contests

I’ve had my share

Things that would shake you

Wrought with despair

But in this there’s magic

Times to rejoice

For you don’t know what’s coming

You don’t have a choice

When times get too trying

When things get too hard

When I’m out of options

When I’ve played my last card

There’s those I can count on

To help me get by

To give me some comfort

To hold while I cry

I’ve been to the edge

But you brought me back

Compassion to spare

This thing you don’t lack

Life can be taxing

That much is true

But when push came to shove

Love kept me with you
