Life in the 22nd century

By Sayuru Chapa Abeysundara

It is the year 2100

The beginning of the 22nd century

The whole world is futuristic

A number of plant and animal species would be thought to be extinct

And would have been disappeared from this earth altogether

Scientists would invent a medicine

That would keep us closer to immortality

Robots would do most of the work that man used to do

Such as carrying weights, lifting heavy cargo,

Mining and extraction, security

As well as working as domestic servants

Self-driving vehicles would dominate everywhere

As well as vehicles that could talk to other vehicles on the road

Their owners, and the passengers that would be travelling inside them

Just to improve road safety and minimize accidents

There would also be flying machines

And people would not be traveling by bus or train

They would work from home

Children would not go to school

They would learn at home with futuristic technology

Shown on a screen with live recordings

Live recordings would be presented directly with the help of microchips

And learn lessons via a microchip attached to a headband

Once worn, children would learn lessons via memory chips

And when the lesson ends, they would completely remember

The whole lesson, without needing to go to school or tuition class physically

And when they go to exam hall centers

They would either use their memory or go for a viva

Or use typing, instead of writing with a pen or pencil

There would be no borders between countries

Everyone would travel around the world without a passport

There would be no more wars in the world

People would live in peace and harmony

There would be highly advanced technology

With AI dominating every sphere on the planet

And a world where humans, AI and robots would coexist

And aliens would visit earth on spaceships

And travel to outer space, visiting faraway planets

Would be completely possible

And would make space colonies on other planets

Perhaps, we would one day see colonies on Mars and the Moon

Where humans and aliens would coexist in harmony

And aliens would be employed in various jobs

An interface between a human brain and a computer would be possible

People would travel in space elevators

So that they could be transported to different planets

And get teleported through outer space

Manufacturing would be done using tiny molecules

Greenhouse gas factories and orbital mirrors would change the atmosphere

On Mars to make it more suitable for human life

Travelling in giant space habitats that could randomly rotate in an orbit

Space colonies would be formed on every planet

Especially those which are located on our galaxy, The Milky Way

As well as the closest galaxy, that is Andromeda

For exploration, discovery and research purposes

Biotechnology would be vastly advanced in a large scale

And human life expectancy would be greatly extended by more than 1000 years

Technology from natural energy would be widespread

Molecules would build products from the atoms of their origin

Such as electronics, clothing, and tools

Microscopic computer particles would change shape, density and appearance

So furniture, walls, and tools would morph on the commands of a computer

Unlimited power plants would supply a massive amount of electricity

Orbital solar powered satellites would beam electricity without wires

To the ground stations via microwaves and lasers

Providing constant power, regardless of the weather and time of day

Industrial facilities powered by the fusion of carbon atoms

Would remove billions of tons of carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere

Directly reversing climate change

Advanced AI systems would control global infrastructure,

Scientific research and complex resource distribution

Quantum networks would handle global cryptography,

Advanced molecular physics, and modify weather patterns at high speeds

AI models would perfectly clone the memories, personalities

And consciousness of human beings

Genetic engineering would likely eliminate most hereditary diseases

And would allow children to be fully immunized before birth

3D printers would use the stem cells of a patient

To create rejection-proof biological organs

Such as hearts, kidneys, and livers on demand

AI, human brainpower and robotic technology would allow seamless control

Over digital devices and the internet

Microscopic, programmable nanobots flowing through the bloodstream

Would repair cellular damage, destroy cancer cells, and clear arterial plaque

Significantly and artificially extending human lifespans

Global economy would shift away from fossil fuels

And instead, use renewable clean energy

Such as wind, solar, geothermal and nuclear fusion energy

AI would diagnose diseases and design drugs

Business automation and transport management

Quantum computer would specialize in cryptography, complex physics

And molecular chemistry problems

And this is what life would like

In the 22nd century
