Letter To Miss Eclipse

Hello darkest day, where is your ray?

A town is gripped by fear; please come out to play.

Lend me a ray, to carry the day.

I hide my fears, and smile them away.

Dear brightest night, why such strange delight?

All the stars dance, beyond the moon's own glance.

And I'm free of fright, dreaming of a peaceful flight.

Lost in a trance, watching shadows advance.

Ever since that night, I feed my eyes to the sky.

I laugh, I cheer, I smile at the deep dark blue.

Night after night, day after day, months get by.

And somehow, something in me quietly grew.

Dear eclipse, you amuse and confuse.

Rarely do I find a sight I can't refuse.

Under your shadow, the night feels new.

Now even the dark reminds me of you.
