In the Quiet Corners of My Heart

I loved her not with loudest words,
But in the silence that softly stirs.
Her presence - gentle, passing by,
Lit a spark stumbling drunk into the ragged dark.
A glance from her would make me stay,
Where joy and hope would find their way.
Not romance wrapped in flowers or wine,
But a silent wish for her heart in mine.
She never knew the weight I bore,
The prayers I whispered, nothing more.
No poems read, no bold embrace -
Just longing wrapped in gentle grace.
She gave me courage, not through speech,
But in the way her light could reach.
Each smile, each step, each breath she drew,
Became a strength I somehow knew.
She saw a friend, I dreamed a star,
Close in name, yet felt so far.
Still I stayed, not to possess -
But for her joy, her peace, her rest.
Now I write with trembling hand,
Not hoping she will understand -
But so this love, so quietly sown —
Yet I confess, I wonder if I love the memory,
or the wound it left behind,
May find a sky to stand alone.
