‘HIM’
Where is he? Who drowns in sin,
Who killed a man claimed ‘not wrong’,
Who held this name to this day,
Whose identity is it anyway?
“Tis’ I who sinned, who did all wrong”,
Said a man in citrus, cuffs and all,
Tears so bright, a pleasured smile,
But is it ‘he’ to plead all while?
Rumors awaiting a respected male,
A hero to society, a loving father,
How is he to end a man?
No place to follow a terrible plan.
As in his heart, another lies,
A feeble child, full of pure and joy,
The flick of a knife, then she had left,
Was enough to rise revenge and theft.
Tis’ not ‘him’ who committed,
This atrocity to be remembered,
Tis’ a part of him, not the whole,
Then is it ‘him’ who’s guilty of all?
An identity, it’s his hope and despair,
His love for others and innocent lies,
His determination and his revenge,
His thoughts to keep, acts be felt.
Yet this merely lies in fraction of part,
An identity, its more than what
Simple words help to discern,
No, an identity lies in a soul.
What one sees deny the others watch,
Trifling cards don’t hold it all,
Not one success to let us find,
What is an identity, pure or wild?
A complex paradox, a code to crack,
A masterpiece, too unique to understand,
Now tell me reader, is it he?
Or a part of him we’ve never seen?
But it’s still him, his rights and wrongs,
Not whole but still a part he sinned,
Intentions justified his hands of blood,
But taints his will, some bit we call… ‘him’
