“WHAT IS IN AN ART…?”

When has art become a narrow perception? A mere painting to admire,

A thousand flashes crowd the frame, to glaze the truth and praise the lies,

Cracks show the pain being hid away from public.

Why has the artist shrunk to a baseless idea? Failing thoughts recognized,

A painter gains the eyes of society, a man of Renaissance in a crusty cottage,

Living life with a simple creed and basic livelihoods.

Poets and dancers, cooks and plays, aren’t they figments of an artist’s faith?

A new form of medieval peasantry, dominated by crimes of definition,

They beg for names and a purpose to hold.

Art is not about the final piece, it’s the work done to achieve it,

The blood, sweat and tears sacrificed by the individual to shape it,

And the million promises they promised to uphold.
