Girl in the Mirror

Original Submission by Nat Smith

Girl in the mirror

I see myself in the mirror

My reflection starts to appear

Why do I hate the way I look

I'm not like the girls in the romance books

I'm not that girl with that pretty blonde hair

It just seems so unfair

I look fat today

Why do I hate the way I weigh

I look again

Trying to find something that my friend

I like my eyes

But I hate my thighs

No matter what good I find

There's always something bad that

crosses my mind

No matter what seems to be changed

I can never be perfectly arranged

Why cant I be as pretty other girls

Other look like these pretty pearls

And I just feel like a rock

Like one you come across on morning walk

Yes it can be cool

But you'd be a fool

To pick a rock over a pearl

I guess I’ll never be a pearl type of girl

So everytime I look in the mirror

I feel all my love disappear
