GHOST

As I watch them

From the top of the stairs, standing alone

In the house that kept me hidden

From the moment I was born

The doors are open now,

My skills have softened,

My age, dismissed

Buried beneath, the echoes unspoken

I am the willow,

Bent but not broken,

Rooted in silence,

My sweetness was stolen

People that move through these halls,

Unaware of the girl who never called

Who never cried, only listened

As time passed and sun glistened

Through the cracks of my windows

Though I’ve grown,

I’m still unknown

A whisper in the walls

A thought that’s hidden

Truth never shown

The ghost of my home
