Oh, How I Loved

Original Submission by Jacqueline Matjila

Oh, How I Loved

Oh how I loved

From your flaws to your jaws

From your scars to your bars

I never knew I could love a person so much

Oh how I loved

The way you smiled when you talked to me

The way you changed your voice just to get me to notice

Even though I was brave my heart never wanted to fade because of this faith I had I knew the main will remain

Oh how I loved

to have known that love is unpredictable and sometimes undeceive-able

Which makes this unbearable to spend a moment not thinking about what used to be

Oh how I loved

The times we spend smoking joints and joking about the future even when we got high we never stoped dreaming yet we seemed to stop believing even when we were receiving we kept on deceiving what was

Oh how I loved

The sarcasm casually thrown around the room which only me and you could get because that’s how words made us react

With a subtle smile I learned how to rap because I was taught to tap into that tune that you always left at noon

Oh how I loved
