Falling forevermore...

Original Submission by Ala' Majidah Tarifi

Falling forevermore…

Breakdown and blackout, and let my sleeves be soaked

with the salted lakes of your teeming tears.

I will cherish the ghosts of your fingertips

the way Monet so intricately adorned the cracking

picturesque walls of your solitude with the

Lilies your smile has gifted me.

I find myself crestfallen, forever falling,

and yet swayed by the planes of the sweet forgotten

nothings of your mind. But as you stand and come my way,

and let my reveries be awaken

with the roses of your tormenting touch,

I lay bare my promises to you –

a glass house and a million Mephistophelian stones.

Your eyes carry the reflections of a world

I am too familiar with, and I will carry that wavering white flag

as my own, swallow your woes and let it drip from my mouth

like honey, a dipsomaniac who refuses to let up her addictions –

and still, I will cherish these High Yellow Notes of your artistries

sweeping through me like the branches of the Almond Blossom,

and let you indulge in the echoes of my own mind,

drenched with the rippling tides of our masterpieces.

Hand over my heart praying, pleading, for the privilege

of letting me fall for you, falling forevermore…
