Excuse Letter
I itch my eyes to wish on the morning stardust.
I scratch like hell, exchanging the chance with the drunken feeling.
The chemistry bereft of sense and comprehension
swells its pursuit for pain like stepping gas on red light.
“But, this is not what I wish for!”, I tell my health, slipping.
The whites turn bloodshot but my fingers still fidget.
Slinking microbes board my sight like refugees on a ship.
Salbabida stays afloat to save them from the ceramic sink.
I don’t want them to make a home out of hurting me.
I upturn the acetone and tilt my head back to catch the drop.
My eyes close and sweet dreams enter like mist.
In the dark, I grip the stethoscope as Percy holds the lightning bolt.
But, I'm not going to school today blindly.
“Bleeding eyes from a wrong wish”, I wrote in the excuse letter.
Tears mark the paper on the Rx symbol.
I write the letter myself because twelve revolutions is enough.
Twelve before the real wish pushes through.
I see in the dark and that’s okay for me, the morbid muse.
A tornado will sweep me up and my excuse letter.
And I will write to God instead of the principal.
that there should be more time for me who has red eyes.
I’m just a sick boy who couldn’t revise.
It's no excuse. please.
