Title - Emotional Architecture of an Unfinished Pulse

They say poetry is a bribe of the heart-at least, that is the common excuse.

But the lover knows the secret pact:

Poetry is merely a meager offering

To the depression that refuses to leave.

We are all bonded by this makeshift repair,

Drugging the darkness we pretend to fight.

For when the night has no listener,

And even the page grows weary,

Writing is not an art-it is a horror experiment.

It is the kind that confuses the experimenter:

Is this a study of terror,

Or the hope that lingers after an apocalypse?

She is no longer a face,

But a wound shaped like a face.

It appears only when I force the vision,

And even then, it refuses to stay.

This "me" that remains is a flickering trace,

For the "you" I once carried has died in this space.

I yearned for my wounds to finally heal;

Instead, I am filled by the wounds that I feel.

Just like-

You may remove the portrait from the wall,

But the nail remains.

The nail is the reason it still aches.

I admire those who do not respect their own hearts-

Not out of grief, but from a sheer, cold maturity.

I watch them kill what once beat wildly inside,

Not out of strength, but out of necessity.

Tonight, they did not just silence their desires;

They executed their own hearts and moved on.

As there are many sorrows in this world beyond the sorrow of heartbreak.

I scream that I don't like sad faces, so I avoid mirrors...

And I wonder how fortunate they must be-

Those who still have the courage to look.
